Last Updated on: May 13, 2024

Turkey is a land that connects Europe and Asia. It takes pride in its rich history, culture, and natural beauty. Among its many gems, the ancient city of Ephesus and the bizarre terraces of Pamukkale are both must-visit destinations. Snuggled in western Turkey, these attractions are easily accessible from Istanbul, making for an enriching two-day tour.

Tours offer the best package tours to explore Turkey’s wonders. You can buy 2 days Ephesus and Pamukkale Tour from Istanbul. This two-day tour from Istanbul will give you a glimpse into the country’s culture and geological wonders. Here’s an itinerary tour guide:

Day 1: Istanbul to Ephesus

Ephesus Ancient City
  • Morning: Start your day early by flying from Istanbul to Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport. The staff from the touring agency will visit your hotel and transfer you to the airport from where you will fly to Izmir.
  • Ephesus Ancient City: Upon arrival in Izmir, the staff will drive you to Ephesus. It is one of the most well-preserved ancient cities in the world. Here, you will explore the iconic sites, including the House of the Virgin Mary, the Celsus Library, the Grand Theater, the Temple of Artemis, and the Terrace Houses.
  • Lunch: Enjoy a traditional Turkish lunch at a local restaurant near Ephesus.
  • Selcuk: Visit the nearby town of Selcuk, which is home to the Ephesus Archaeological Museum. Here, artefacts and relics from the Ephesus archaeological site are displayed.
  • Overnight stay: You will be transferred to hotels in Kusadasi for the night.

Day 2: Pamukkale and Return to Istanbul

Pamukkale Terraces
  • Morning: After breakfast, depart for Pamukkale, approximately a 3-hour drive from Selcuk. Pamukkale is famous for its stunning white terraces formed by calcium-rich thermal waters.
  • Lunch: Enjoy lunch in the town of Pamukkale before starting the tour.
  • Pamukkale Terraces: Spend the morning exploring the Pamukkale terraces, which resemble a cascading frozen waterfall. You can stroll on the terraces and even swim in the thermal pools. Bring your swimsuit and a towel!
  • Hierapolis: Next, visit the ancient city of Hierapolis, located on top of the Pamukkale terraces. Explore the well-preserved relics, including the Roman baths, the necropolis, and the ancient theatre.
  • Transfer to Denizli Airport: The staff will drive you to the Denizli airport early in the evening to board a flight to Istanbul.
  • Fly to Istanbul – On reaching Istanbul, the arrival team will transfer you to your hotel in Istanbul.

This two-day tour offers a great opportunity to see Ephesus’s ancient wonders and Pamukkale’s natural beauty. It is a relatively fast-paced trip, but if you have more time, consider extending your stay in both Ephesus and Pamukkale. You get to immerse yourself in their history and beauty fully.

If you are short on time, a one-day Pamukkale tour from Istanbul is an ambitious but rewarding adventure. It is a tumultuous experience, but allows you to witness the fantastic beauty of Pamukkale’s terraces and explore the primordial city of Hierapolis. Nevertheless, this tour requires careful planning and a long day of travel, so book your flights, accommodations and tour packages in advance. Be prepared for a busy but visually memorable day.
