Exploring The USA: 3 Ways To See Each State From A Different Perspective

Guest Post

Last Updated on: May 7, 2023

The US has long been a popular destination for holiday makers. It’s enormous size and incredibly variety means the country has something for everyone to enjoy, be that spotting Hollywood stars or exploring remote wilderness terrain.

If you’re looking to plan your next holiday but are struggling to come up with ideas, a visit to the US can be a fantastic idea. The options for things to are essentially limitless, so sitting down to plan your trip ahead of time can help you make the most of your time there. Check out these three tips for seeing the states from a different perspective.

Explore America’s More Remote Areas

When we think of the US, we usually picture two things: huge metropolitan cities and wilderness expanses like the Grand Canyon. While these two contrasting images certainly epitomise the US, they are by no means the be all and end all of the US.

If you’re a fan of nature and the outdoors, you will no doubt have heard of places like Yellowstone National Park and Yosemite National Park. These locations are full of incredible scenery and exotic wildlife, but they are not the only options when it comes to outdoor exploration it the US.

You’ll find that most states have remote regions that are largely unexplored and a hotbed of wonderful wildlife and scenic beauty. You could visit the deep woods and forests of upstate New York or explore the swampy Florida Everglades and try spotting animals like alligators, manatees, or boa constrictors. Though with the latter, you might not want to get too close to anything like an alligator or a snapping turtle.

Experiencing nature can be exciting and thought provoking, but it can also be dangerous even if you’ve taken the necessary precautions to avoid an injury or a bite from a wild animal. To minimise the financial burden should you get injured in the US you might to look at getting your trip covered by insurers like Staysure. This way, the costs will be covered should you require medical assistance. Given that the US is one of, if not the most expensive countries in the world for healthcare, this is incredibly important.

Don’t Just Focus On The Biggest Cities

The US is home to some of the most famous cities on the planet. Places like New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Francisco have been featured in countless films and TV shows, with many of us feeling intimately familiar with these locations despite having never actually been there.

While these cities are certainly historic, they can be overrun with tourists, and local businesses often hike up their prices to reflect this. What this means is that you may find it difficult to get the authentic American experience and your visit may feel a little bit artificial.

Instead, why not check out some of the countries less visited states and cities? Places like Boston, Seattle, New Orleans, and Salt Lake City all see significantly lower tourist numbers, but still offer an incredible number of things to do and places to see.

By visiting these cities rather than the big hitters, you’ll be able to experience what feels more like America, away from the masses of tourists.

Plan Ahead Of Time

As we mentioned earlier, the US is massive. There’s far too much to see and do in one visit, so you’ll need to plan your trip accordingly if you want to make the most out of your time there.

Draw up detailed schedules and itineraries with all your activities carefully mapped out. This way, you won’t miss out on anything and won’t leave the US disappointed that you ran out of time.
